In 2011, this blog started off with a failed 365-project track of some of my favourite fashionable moments caught on camera.
In 2012, I am going to attempt another 365-ish project starting on the Lunar Year of the Dragon (as I like to call it, the "Year of the Gay Dragon"), and try to post pictures of things that happen or that I see around me in my day-to-day life.

Year of the Gay Dragon: Day 041 (Photo 1 & 2) - Fishy
While walking on one of the side streets away from the Village, I saw this dead fish lying in a planter. It was a very odd find.

I took this picture from the backyard of one of my relative’s places in Scarborough. I went there after having a birthday lunch with my family.
WDJJDW? Outfit #3 - Celebrating (and Changing) my Inner Dragon
(NOTE: For an explanation of WDJJDW?, please click on this link.)
For every birthday, I try to come out with a big colourful outfit to wear. For this particular birthday, I decided to go with a dragon theme since this birthday did fall under the Year of the Dragon. Although you don’t see it all in this picture, I did wear a pink dragon belt buckle from Shi Studio, my dragon egg necklace, a “Celebrate Your Inner Dragon” T-shirt designed by my friend Tom of Madness Personified, and a dragon mask from Malabar’s that I wore as my party hat (as seen below). To complement all this, I tied it together with my “technicolour dream” blazer by Issey Miyake and my Dayton boots with pink laces.

At least that’s what I started with…
Along the way, my friends arrived at the party with birthday gifts that got added into the outfit… and sometimes, elements in my current outfit got edited out in the process.
Around my neck, my friend Mark got me a red corset choker from Northbound Leather which replaced my dragon necklace. On my blazer, my friend Sam pinned a Sailor Moon button that he got from Hot Topic. And my friend Paul replaced my dragon hat got replaced by this Thor-like helmet for use in my future leather outfits as he explained it.

Year of the Gay Dragon: Day 033 (Photo 2) - This Cake was No Lie!
My friends, Alex (who owns his own cupcake business, AC Cupcakes) and Ray made me a special cake for my “Celebrate J-Day: The Big One… Thirty-One, that is” party at Zelda’s. I wanted to get a Power Ranger cake since the newest Super Sentai series in Japan, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters premiered on my actual birthday (February 26th). Because of my love of pink and the Pink Rangers, my friends made the cake in the style of the Pink Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger (which is ironic considering how Go-Busters make references to the Power Rangers).
It was a delicious cake! Everyone loved it. I have such great friends!

I caught this “hair-raising” photo of a drag queen performing on stage at Zelda’s when almost thirty of my friends gathered to celebrate my 31st birthday.
